A unique opportunity to define future strategies: how the Forum is bringing together representatives and delegates of the most important international organizations

The World Food Research and Innovation Forum will gather a broad spectrum of institutional, research, industry and civil society stakeholders from all over the world. The Forum, which aim is to create a permanent platform and a new model for working out and discussing the challenges of feeding the planet, was, in fact, organized bringing together the decision-makers for the development of a model based on the three pillars of security, safety and sustainability.
Among the speakers and the researchers who, on September 22 and 23, will give their contribution to the discussion on the global agenda for food security, safety and sustainability, will therefore be representatives and delegates of the most important national and international organizations dealing with food and nutrition issues. For research and innovation there will be delegates of the European Federation of Food Science & Technology – EFFoST, of the World Food Center of the University of California, Davis, of the Wageningen University and Research Centre (Netherlands), of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – UNIDO and of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation – EMBRAPA.
For food safety and hygiene policies there will be high representatives of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration – FDA, of the European Food Safety Authority – EFSA, of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization – FAO and of the World Health Organization – WHO. For the Plenary session a key role will be played by the European Commission, the Food Industry Asia – FIA, the World Bank Group and the National Research Council – CNR.
All of them will meet to design global strategies for the development of the agri-food sector and to define policies contributing to sustainability, security and quality in the agri-food field, during a two days Forum which can still be joined. Registration deadline has in fact been postponed to 10th September, in order to give to experts and stakeholders from all over the world the opportunity to join the first edition of this unique global platform.
