Main activities: Applied research and industrial research
1986 Geological and geomorphological surveys-processing techniques with spatial and geostatistical analysis within GIS. Application ambits: anthropogenic subsidence in coastal areas (Valli di Comacchio); Quaternary and geomorphological evolution in relation to coastal tectonics, integrated analysis of coastal risk, analysis of suitability for the development of economic activities (industrial and agricultural) in the international arena (Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador).
1999 Scientific responsible of research activities within the Research Program Agreement between ENEA and the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Land Protection for the assessment of interactions between river and coast erosion susceptibility; implementation for the Ministry of a GIS application to make consistent, at national scale, the Hydrological Risk Areas traced by the Italian Basin Authorities.
2000 Realization of geographic databases within GIS for the study of the evolution of the coastal erosion in the Provinces of Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce for prioritization of interventions to mitigate coast integrated risk.
Participation in the European project INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe).
Responsible for the design and set up of the national geographic database and meta-information about the existence of the state of conservation of the coastal dunes in Italy in relation to coastal erosion (MIUR Project).
Design and implementation of a geographic database and meta-data to the management of the works of defense from sea flooding for a stretch of the coast of the Emilia Romagna Region.
Academic teaching (at national en international level) on the issues of development GIS applications and certified geographic dataset, for complex environmental and risks assessment and mitigation.
2004 Participation in the Italian Network for Costa (RIC) as a representative in charge of ENEA Responsible in charge for ENEA to Project INTERREG Sub LITTORISK on behalf of the Region of Molise.
2007 Member of the organization staff of the National Conference on Climate Change.
Charged as Scientific Committee on “risk and adaptation in the coastal area” topic of to the National Conference on Climate Change in 2007.
2010 Contact ENEA for the preparation of the National Report ICZM (Integrated Coastal Zone Management).
Since 2010 Position of Coordinator, in the Board of ENEA Bologna Research Center, for the transfer of the ENEA Research Center to “Tecnopolo” Bologna new location.
Since 2011 Position of Coordinator of the Project “Tecnopolo ENEA Bologna” financed by POR-FESR 2007-2013 Program.
Position of Coordinator for External Relations of ENEA Bologna Research Centre.
2012 to 2014 Representative in charge of ENEA inside Steering Committee and Scientific Monitoring and Industrial High Technology Network of Emilia-Romagna (CISMI ).
Since 2013 Participation in Urban Europe Research Alliance (UERA) for the coordination of national WP, stated by Italian Ministry of Education.
Membership of BOOST Project (Coordination and support Action), coordinated by ENEA in UERA.
