I currently support the Product Environmental Footprint pilot phase (focusing on food sector) which is part of the European Resource Efficiency Roadmap (2011). I am co-chairing the Sustainable Consumption and Production Food Round Table and I am a member of its steering committees. I am an observer-member of the FAO-LEAP activities.
I have a PhD in eco-toxicology, DEA in Food and Nutrition, Master in Ecology and Environmental protection. I have more than 25 years of professional experience with public research organizations (U.S. Agency for Environmental Protection, Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique Quebec), private companies (Procter & Gamble), academia (University of Bordeaux, France), EU commission (JRC) and various associations.
In 2008, I founded and managed Science & Environnement, a science-consulting firm specialized in regulatory assessment of chemicals (REACH), sustainable development, science communication. S&E has provided support to companies such as P&G, L’Oréal, Nestlé, etc.
During that period, I have engaged up to 10% of my company turnover into the creation of Biocomp-Nepal, a socially and environmentally responsible private company based in Kathmandu (composting & farming). The company is a Gold Standard approved project for carbon credit compensation and has been recognized by UNFCCC in 2012 in Doha as a ‘Momentum for change lighthouse activities’.
