Economist-statistician and private sector development expert, worked in manufacturing and banking in Italy and joined the United Nations (UNIDO) in 1987 as junior expert in Papua New Guinea. Currently is the Acting Director of UNIDO Agri-Business Development Department.
In 2013 as EU candidate was shortlisted to the post of Executive Director of the International Sugar Organization (ISO). He has worked and supervised operations in over 60 countries covering agribusiness and commodity-based industry and supply chains in both food and non-food sectors. He has developed Public-Private Partnership and buyers-suppliers sustainability projects with retailers (METRO, AEON) and manufacturers (Illycoffe, Agrana, Heineken, Danon and others).
An excellent communicator, he is often invited as public speaker and moderator in ministerial meetings, international conferences and events and has also published extensively on economic development, agri-business supplier development and sustainability.
