About

The World Food Research and Innovation Forum project aims to seize the opportunities of a significant European and global dimension scheduled for 2021-2022 on food challenges and the climate transition.

Vision

Promoting a global permanent platform made of national and international policy makers and the science, research, business, and finance communities in order to share experiences and promote research & innovation and policies in the domains of food and nutrition, food safety, sustainability and life sciences.

Mission

Hosting, growing and implementing knowledge on the future of food by means of 4 high level specialist and stakeholder platforms in order to develop scientific events and a permanent biennial global forum.

Goals

Develop new cooperation models among governments, international institutions, companies, and the research community, by involving the most important players globally with the aim of defining the main R&D needs, policies and measures in the food sector.

Governance system

The development of the project is entrusted to the activities of the 3 thematic multistakeholder platforms with the following setting:

  • Steering International Committee

    A group of 10 high level scientists who have the objective of outlining and promoting the scientific agenda of the project. The Platform is coordinated by a Chairman and a Co-Chair, who is responsible for the activities, the programme definition and the delivery of the results.

  • Strategic International Partner Platform

    A group of about 10 European and international organisations, as well as European and international regulatory agencies, the role of this platform is to outline an innovative and dynamic exchange on the challenges of global nutrition among the different authorities.

  • Multi Stakeholder Platform

    A group of 20 food and circular economy companies and 20 players from the ecosystems of research and innovation. The aim is to set up the dialogue and design innovative strategies in the fields of sustainability, safety and agro-food quality.
